ASTM F383 - Practice for static bend and torsion testing of intramedullary rods (withdrawn 1996)

The ASTM F1264 standard provides test methods for characterization of the mechanical properties of intramedullary fixation devices (IMFD).

The following tests are described:

• Static four-point-bend test with the nail or rod
• Static torsion test with the nail or rod
• Bending fatigue testing with the nail or rod
• Bending fatigue testing with the locking screws
