Standard test method for determining the forces for disassembly of modular acetabular devices

The ASTM F1820 test method describes the methodology used to measure the attachment strength between a modular acetabular shell and liner.

Disassembly tests are carried out in the following loading directions:

• Axial disassembly
• Offset pull-out or lever-out disassembly
• Torque-out disassembly
